"Two ways to look at it I suppose.

This still is relatively sophisticated. Lots of experienced gents might say that you should get some stilling under your belt before you move on to an apparatus like this.....

On the other hand, this still is perfectly capable of being run like a plane jane, old school pot still. And if you really think this hobby is for you and you'd rather put your money into a still head that offers good flexibility and makes better flavor'd spirits than any pot still that come outta my garage.....Then this is the still You should hope for.

Also,,,Kentucky Shinner sells all the parts to this still alah cart. And therefore a cost savings can be had if you feel like you can source part of the build and assemble the still head your self.

Furthermore, I'm fairly certain he makes himself readily available for any questions. There is a growing population of operators over at HD and any number of threads within the forums that catalog all things ""Flute"".

Purists might say that a full bodied Bourbon needs to be potstilled and put on oak for any number of years.....One might say that White Dog out of a potstill is pretty rough stuff to drink as a new born likker....Well these flutes make very very good new born likker compared to a twice run potstill.

By contrast,,, a stone cold bourbon snob might say that a plated column make a thin drink compared to a pot stilled AG.......

I'm a hobby stiller and most of my stuff only gets a few months worth of sleepy time.
