"Hello everyone,
My question is if I can use a water distiller I have access to, to make some vodka or whiskey / rye.
The unit is a Barnstead A1011 water distiller worth approx $6000.00
I have not picked it up yet as I want to know if anyone is familiar with this model and if it would work. It is free for me to use as I am not buying it. So any input would be appreciated
Thanks in advance.
Vennge"

Well that depends.. can you regulate the temp?? Water is boiled ( 212 F) and the condensate is collected as distilled water.......but when you cook whiskey mash the temps are different by some degrees. If you can adjust the temps for the desired range then it should work.
