"Man, I've had so much fun with this hobby I can't stand it!!! I went and got me a pressure canner and started canning stuff out of my garden....even built me a chicken coop with a large run so I'll be gettin me some bitties next week I hope. Trying to strive twords a little less dependancy on big corporation (wal-mart). Thinking of my next step...maybe mushroom farming!! Anybody got any ideas?

Anyway, after several experimental/stripping runs I threw all my rough, harsh tasting concoctions in the pot, diluted to 47% and gotsome reasonably drinkable beverage after a 14 hr spirit run. I think I'm even getting the hang of tellin heads mids and tails. I did get a Payne stepless voltage controller which works fantastic for gettin way slow spirit run action, much better results than with the hot plate alone, it wasnt cheap but it sure is the perfect addition to my kick-ass PSIIHC setup . Also ordered a Traceable Digital Lab Thermometer accurate to 0.5 degF, once again expensive but a great addition to my set-up.

Next step I think will be charcoal filter, I was at the recyclers the other day and saw all kinds of stainless 2"" tubing with couplings
$1.50 a pound so I think I'm gonna try and get the parts together and find someone with a tig welder to stick it together.

Next mission is gonna be corn mash run in potstill mode....once the triple digit heat wave subsides a little. I'll report on the chickens in the future!! HA HA! I love gettin' back to tradition! my old grand-dad and grand-ma are up there smiling down on me now.BigGrin"

If you make a clone of the BH SS filter try to get the bottom of it into sorta a slight cone shape it will drain completely that way and you won't be leaving anything on the bottom when you finish up. That's the only improvement I could think of for the BH filter."
