So the sugar wash uses the Turbo Yeast, I get that. If I'm going to try a maize, sugar and/or two-row type base instead would I use a differant variety of yeast? I have about 10 lbs of flaked maize that I didn't use for another beer recipe that I'd like but all I have is the Turbo 48 on hand at the moment.

No, who told you that. I never have used turbo & probably never will.

Can't say that anyone told me, poor assumption based on reading about yeasts and knowing from my beer brewing that yeasts vary by type of beer you're making, ale vs. lager or Irish versus Belgium. Good thing no one screams at newbies with stupid questions.

I use SuperStart distillers, but have used just regular yeast from the grocery store - can't say I see a lot of difference. I use EC-118 for my wine, it works every time too. I prefer to mix my own nutrients vs using turbo, but if you want to use turbo I won't talk bad about it.

Turbo Yeast are for fermenting high %ABV washes meant to be distilled for ethanol fuel. |
