Ok,
So here is the post where everyone gets to describe what would be their ideal porch FOR THE JAMBOREE. Fortunes prevaling, I may or may not be able to pull it together, but I wanted to see what you folks out there in Porch Country might have as some minimum requirements of which I might be unaware.
My two cents is a simple rectangle, six feet deep by eighteen feet long, about a foot off the ground. In my fancy moments I might add a foot high railing to put your feet up on.
And also, probably should ask the park folks if it's ok first? Or just do it?

If you're flying here, best check to see how all that will fit into your luggage.
You might want to make some coffee liquor before the next all night run. Reminds me of nights before college final exams, all night cramming and no doze. I'd fall asleep also.

I think the answer lies in distilling only 25 liters at a time!
Being the owner of a grand porch ,I assume, do you have any Jamboree Porch necessities? You and anyone else.

Now that you mention it, I do have a heavy duty trailer, that I've used for beehives, eq, and hay. Its 18 or 20 foot by 8 foot. Problem is its about 28's tall, so we would have to have a heavy mat of hay around it. A day of sampling, shareing and tasteing could make it tricky. That or seatbelts in the rockers. Some of those tall tales, we're liable to hear, might just send someone rolling. Just replaced the 2X 12s on the top.
With my column, and I would pressume yours as well, I can run 50L as a stripping run in 4 hours. I then save this, about 55 to 58% stuff till I have around 12 to 14 gal. and find I can run a super quality spirit run with this higher proof stuff in about 7 hours. I can't handle those sleepless nights anymore, even with the alchol lamp turned on low.

Our town used to borrow it, for the use of bands and guest speakers for street dances. Those could get kinda rowdy too, specially Harly weekend.

Well does that ever sound like I'm off the hook! I say Yes Please to the trailer. And if you like, I could try and come up to the farm prior to the Jamboree and help load up.
And speaking of your faaaaaarm. ahem. How close to Charlotte N.C. are you? My gal and I are going to be there the first week of April. She for work and me because she's where all the fun is. But I thought, greatly hoped actually, that if convenient for you I might wander by, so to speak. I've been known to pitch in on chores just for the good time... But please say no if not a good time, any excuse will do: rampant botchelism, hooping crane infestation, premature balding.
Couple other questions for ya: in doing a stripping run, is one less concerned about a slow steady flow rate and only trying to get as much product out in a short stretch of time? Otherwise clue me in on a 50 liter run that takes only 4 hours.
Got another one: in using my reflux still as a pot still, I'm not terribly concerned with a slow flow rate here, either? Keep the heat level steady and just let the distillate come out in a nice steady stream?

You would be most welcome. Just checked with one of my kids, as I had 2 attend UNCC, just across the street from where your wife works. They said it was about 18o miles, about a 2.5 hour drive. There is definately a balding issue, but its not premature.
Yes, run the stripping run as fast as your condenser can handle. Since I have a 3' column with a large condenser, and use constant flow, very cold spring water, Ican run very fast.
For the same reasons, dureing the spirit run, after a slow collection of the heads, I can increase the collection speed to an average of a gallon per hour, of 95% corrected. Takes a heck of a lot of packing.
PS Your wife might enjoy comeing also. We have horses, river rafting, and beautiful country.

THANK YOU for the ok to visit! And apparently I wasn't going without the gal anyway... She read about you having to feed the horses and she went 'oh oh'. I myself, long ago and far away, used to trot Arabians in long distance races, and so could enjoy being back in the saddle for a time - but chores first!
All the advice on the spirit runs now is obvious. I had been SO concerned with 'proper drip rate' I kinda forgot some common sense. Thanks.
I'll let you know more specifics of April when I get them. Herself is in charge and I have to wait for the info to filter down to me.
