"I don't think this applies to me, but thought I'd inquire nonetheless. I was reading in my owners manual re: the 1st 40-60 ml of distillate which comes out of the still is methanol ('heads'); from there on it is ethanol. I believe this applies to making the orginal nuetral spirit (water, sugar , yeast).

In my case I'm making Absinthe which utilizes a 'mash'. Mascerated wormwood, star anise, fennel in a nuetral spirit. Since the neutral spirit has already been distilled and I'm distilling for the second time, I'm wondering if any methanol is even present (?)

Any thoughts ?"

Well, methanol is a byproduct of yeast in the fermentation mode. If in fact you did'nt add more yeast but you are distilling to get the ethonol out of your product I would bet the methanol would be minimal. But disgarding 40-60 mls is not enough to worry about missing so why not -- just in case.
