Best thing to do is read everything you can find about fermenting and distilling, then read it again. As far as the still goes buy a ready made still that has good reviews. Generally they will work great and disassemble easily for cleaning. When you get to the point of being operation-able then start asking questions about what you may be having trouble understanding. The basics are pretty simple.

There is a lot more to it than poring some sugar and corn in a pot. If you saw ""That Show"" on the Discovery Channel, well its all bullshit forget what you saw them doing. Study, study...& Good LuckBigGrin"

Thanks for the response guys. I still would like to know some things. One I never saw any thing on tv bc I don't have cable. Two I can't buy a still. I live in America and any manufacture of stills that sells one to somebody has to report that persons name to the ATF. So I would like some info on how to build one. If you guys can tell me where to read about the process behind building a still and the production process that would be great. Thanks

"The ATF???????? hahahahah too funny. You are on a site that sells distillation units all day every day and there at least 100 more. If the ATF coming to your door is something that worries you then pick another hobby cause running the one you build is also iffy.
You passed by forums on your way to this page.
Building a still
Operating a still
and there is lots of info all around those forums."

I didn't pass by forums on the way to this site. A friend gave this site directly. If you read my first reply I said I'm new to this site. I didn't know this site sells that. Honestly why would I want a trail of what I'm buying so people can see what I'm doing at my house. You can purchase weed seeds over the Internet and send them to your house. Do you think maybe that puts up a red flag and someone will take notice. I don't care if you like people knowing your business but personally I'd rather nobody know what I'm doing. If your so relaxed about the idea when it is Ilegal. Why don't you call your local police and ask them if they would like to try your homemade alcohol

I'm sure you must be aware that buying a still is perfectly legal. What ever you use it for after that is entirely up to you. There are lots of uses for a still that are legal. If it really bothers you just ship it to a buddies house and pick it up there :)

In most places the still is not illegal it's what you make that might or might not be illegal. You can use it to distill water, vinegar, or any number of other legal substances. That being said it's not that hard to study up and make your own. Goggle (sky net) keg still and see what you get.
