"Gonna run another 5-6 gallon of the cornmeal sugar wash today. Boiler is up to 71 which prob means it be up to 170 in a short while. I think I will let this one reflux for a bit..lol. Big thanks to Dr.DanCan for sending some simplified instructions on how to run the gizmo and thanks to whoever it was who posted the original narrative. I think the directions come from somewhere on here. If I survive will report back on the results. http://www.brewhausforum.com/showthread.php?t=1916"

"Hey Doc great to hear from you. I was wondering about that advanced status myself. I figger it was because I was brave enough to knock a big hole in the Onyx plastic card and break down and buy a hooch making apparatus from them..lol. Now I do have some experience in making Cowboy Wine..just as instructed by the old blacksmith pal. Have tweaked it a bit. It seems to be fodder for the hooch makers. So do believe I have some things to contribute in that area. As far as the apple pie there are entire websites and chat forums devoted to the topic. Start googling with ApplePie.com. Most of the recipes call for a liter of shine or everclear..gallon of apple cider and a gallon of apple juice. Then you put cinnimon sticks and cloves and stuff down in it. Some put sugar in it..some dont. Or a manly man person could just proof it with apple cider instead of crick water. Yeah thats the ticket. Try that. Well see..I'm recently retired and bored to tears. I tend to play compooter instead of watching TV so I chat about most anything:) Sure yall be delighted to hear about my second run failure today. Either a plugged up column or a broke hot plate. I cant decide and aint very mechanical minded. I posted about it over the Packing thread but havent had time to go looky at responses yet. Fortunately for yall..I have a real narrow window of being interested in various nefarious hobbies. Now as I told BR seems like..I am fixing to start replacing all them cheesy clip on hose clamps which comes with the BH deal into some real screw type hose clamps. I thought I was gathering foreshots today..and I somewhat was when come to find out the little short hose on the bottom of the condenser was leaking water into the slop jar. Now how can a person make hooch like that?

Well always glad to try and be helpful to my pals:) I was thinking apple flavor is a bit bland for this deal. Its not real appley in other words. Sorta like Maple Syrup mostly translates into sweet and the maple flavor gets lost in the shuffle in many applications. Why dont you go browse around in the essence section. I bet they have something that make it taste just like an apple..just guessing on some of this of course. Completion of the second run was much better today. Trip to the auto parts store for some decent clamps. They have them now with little plastic wing nut looking things..do not even take a screwdrive to put them on. Were going to have to tell Rick where to buy those. There is WAY too much weight on the short hose which supplies the water to the condenser..it also supports the water valve and a hose full of water. Anyway..temps are right..only took one trip to the water faucet this time. Let it reflux for close to an hour. Been holding 177 and spittiing out hooch for hours. Each time I think surely the tails should be in view it just keep dribbling another half pint o hooch. Thought I had a water leak or something..but it burns real nice. Keep us posted on the apple shine. I have already promised apple pie to everybody I know..lol. PS Edit: I also bypassed the internal thermostat on the hotplate and hooked it up through my high dollar Rockweller Router controller. That is what pushed me over the hump so to speak. I just could not bring it up to temps yesterday because of the thermostat.
