Just did my first run and it was 190 proof. My question is how do I cut it to 90 proof and it still be good clear shine? And can you cut it with water?

Yep, distilled water is advisable.

Take a reading and then add --alittle--bit of water. Then take another reading. It dosent have to be distilled water, you can use tap water if its good enough to drink. Add small amounts at a time soas not to get it TOO weak. You can always add more water but you cant take it back.

Are you shooting me a line of bull about sacrificial run? Man I sure would hate to throw this away, if its sacrifical what do you do with it?

No its not BS the first run of alcohol you push through your still should be discarded. This first run will clean out any oils, fluxes or other contaminates left behind during manufacture of your still what ever your cleaning run of vinegar left behind. This run of ethanol is usually thrown away."

Oh man, I love that thought: collecting the first few runs in a series of jars and then smelling 'em to learn. I'm gonna do just that.

Let me ask, because it's not clear: If you throw out your first run, I assume you throw out your first beer-stripping run, right? Or are we talking here about going straight from mash/wash to final distillation?

You are correct only the very first run of ethanol should be discarded as the sacrificial cleaning run. This first run should take care of any contamination left behind by the vinegar run and manufacturing of the still.

All subsequent runs should be fine, make vicious proper cuts of you fore shots, heads, hearts & tails. Collect in small jars, look, smell, and, feel the distillate.

Don't be greedy when fermenting by pushing your yeast too hard trying to get greater than 10% AbV washes/mashes. 10% ABV wash/mash is the norm for drinking ethanol with no carbon filtering required. The harder you stress your yeast the more off flavors you will get.

The absolute hardest characteristic for most new distillers to develop is PATIENCE.
