"Good Morning,
I have just stumbled on your forum on the old Interweb thingy.
I use an Airstill and Turboyeast to brew a sugar yeast and then just flavour with essence to make whisky that is better than the cheap stuff and comparable in quality to a lot of the commercial brands over here.
Just thought i would stop by and see how the big guns do things
:)

Hey Droopy..wecome. Sounds like you have the whiskey thing going your way. I have been clowning around soaking wood chips and charcoal..moving in and out of the freezer etc. I priced some Essence but could have went and bought a pint of whiskey for what they were charging for it. Decided I didnt really need any that bad. I thought everybody in Merry Old England drank Gin...except for Sir Sean Connery. Seems like he enjoys Smirnoff Martinis..stirred not shaken. Or maybe that is only in the James Bond Movies..lol. Dont be a stranger.

"Sean Connery is from Scotland, but i'm pretty sure he lives in Calafornia, and i have never even tried Gin - The smell puts me off!
Essence for a litre of Whisky costs about $2.50, with a litre of Whisky costs around $20, so its nice, cheap and instant."

Woops sorry about that geographical foo paw on James Bond. My brew shoppe gets six bucks and some change for a tiny bottle of essence and dont have much of a selection.

Get ahead of you drinking curve and then use some charred oak to soak in. I think you might like it if you are a whiskey drinker. Welcome and let us in on any over the pond ideas you all may use over there.
