Ola amigos! I been off work for the last couple of days and dont get on the computer much when off. So I was wondering, what do you all do with the processed mash? I do a lot of composting for the garden and was thinking i could dump it in the composter. feed it to anything? chickens? drunk chickens? I hate the idea of wasting anything. J

Bury it deep enough (>6") and cover with leaves (or ?) so varmits don't dig it up. Note: simply dumping mash is how "revenuers" tracked down those evil moonshiners due to smell and drunken animals.

Hey flip, not for nothing but over on tony acklands site he talks about "slopping back", a process of re-using some of the mash/yeast for the next batch. When you get to his site go to chapter called "The Wash" then click on "slopping back". It may give you some ideas re: old mash.
