"On another website it seems to be a sin to be ignorant of information relating to brass and alcohol making.
Well shoot me.i dont know everything/sorry. I really dont care how many times a question is asked about anything, i believe we are here to learn and help others also.
I'm planning to try and automate my still a bit more by using 3 way solenoid valves and pid controlls with diferent types of sensors to separate the fores, heads, hearts and tails.
WOW valves cost a fortune but i found readily available 3 way n/c 220 volt brass valves for about 33 dollars shipped.

I'm still totaly in the dark about using brass instead of stainless for this job.

BigGrinCan anyone shed some light on this subject for meBigGrin

Brass contains small amounts of lead and will leach into your product in the presence of alcohol. They talk about pickling the brass to remove surface lead here: http://www.brewhausforum.com/search.php?searchid=56641

Sorry, no metal detectors here. I reload and shoot my 38. Titty bars???? well if they are not for me then i'm not interested. I like the woman to want me also."

Well you have me thinking. I just got a 6 gallon pot from bayou classic. I have to get to the welder so he can install the 1 inch NPT coupling. That will be the hot liquor tank we were discussung when i wanted a table to put on top of a table.
Then i just got the 9 gallon plastic fermenter from (((OVERPRICED)) EC KRUSE.

I will use that for fermenting the batches for whiskey and vodka. It is just the right size for my 8 gallon BREWHAUS boiler.

Now you are getting to be a pest. I need to take a small car radiator to a welder so he can size down the inlet and outlet to 1/2 inch. This is suposed to enable me to re circulate water for cooling the still. I have a blower from an air handler and i want to get the submersable pump that Bayouruler said was poor quality. I will try and compensate by raising the level of the pump to jus below the radiaror return.

Im getting tired ---all your fault Whatever your name is. Sad"
