The included wort chiller and grain grinder should really come in handy for hooch making. A person could pass of old age waiting on that hot wash to cool itself off enough to pitch the yeastes. The grain grinder is just too kewlish. Person could make their own cornmeal and flour with that most likely. Smart thinking."

BW I'm not looking at the kit. That kit with that little grinder is rediculous. Actually i want the 50 liter rig. I have wurt chillers. Ig i chose to grind my own grain i would buy a respectable roller mill.

I agree. Just looked terribly over injuneered. Us thrifty Scotman types like cheap and simple stuff. Right?

Well it's just eye candy- a pot with an electric element and a circulator pump. I'm glad i looked at it 50 times to see what it really is.
I live in a tin shack in a low end trailer park. But i'm scooter trash.

BW The main reason i didnt buy it is because it is really not doing anything that we do not already do in one pot.
We still have to drain it to a fermenter etc.

The main thing it does as I see it is that the circulation should produce a little higher efficiency.

I wanted it for whiskey mash. I was not going to do a boil in it. SOOO if i sparge, what does 3 thousand get for us??

You still have to interrupt the cycle to add hops for the boil in beer making.

What do you folks think. I mean lets break it down to bare bones."

Well I give it a good pause to see if any of the no talkie mofos want to jump in..lol. I peg it as a rich mans toy. Or maybe a newbie yup toy running amock with the plastic..lol. I would not want it enough to pay the shipping on a free one. Thats purty sad huh? I have owned too many mostrosities of labor saving steel to know they dont never work right. I'm sitting here getting mad about it as we speak. Dont even get me onto the Kitchen Aid Mixer story. Thanks. All that nonsense all got to be washed and sterilized twice. Works the same way on sausage making. Big pain in the coola.

I agree on th kitchen aid mixer. I would choose viking first but for sausage making and grinding the right tools are not table top mixers."

Bingo Senor. I learnt that lesson the hard way. Or maybe the Warden did. I sent her to get me a one notch under commercial grade grinder and she comes lugging back with a KA mixer with every attachment known to man. Aint none of them worked right..most especially the grinder part. That worthless peece o sheet has been residing undisturbed in the camper for many moons now. Gave away all the attachments for them dumb enough to want em. Save the one to make pies. I have to go lug the crazy thing in the house every few years at Thanksgiving.

Well heck..I thought it was some kinda hooch making deal. I have the 1 hp Big Mama model. It will grind up a Rhino if you can stuff it down the hole. I need to use it sometime..lol. It will take the smallest Hobart plates #12 seems like. Wont take the Hobart knives since the shaft if not the same size. Has a sloppy auger which is the same problem suffered by most other similar chicom imports. Its for sale by the way. I have got way too lazy to make sausage. Shipping weight 90 lbs. Not counting the packaging.
