thanks elricko but a simple yes or even an answer would be better, you see i live on an island in the south pacific with just a dish and a wind turbine and one very small plane and i dont want to drink crap vodka.

Justin, Elricko's question was right on, since you didn't post your situation. Makeing activated carbon at home would be almost impossible, as it requires very high temp steam, pressure conditions etc. There are other things you can do though. First and foremost, make as clean a distillate as you can, as close to 95%, as your still will run, I usually do two runs, to make it cleaner. Then if you have a freezer or fridge, cool your product-Helps seperate the oils. Then fill a jar all the way to the top, and let sit. The oils will form a film ant the top that you can see with a flashlight shining parrallel to the surface. You can then dab them off with a cloth. Plane homemade charcoal, might help some also. Main thing is good distillation practice, and you won't need to filter. You won't have crap vodka.
