Hey guys, looking for a cheap, easy and reliable way to bend 1/2" tubing for my worm. I don't have a tubing bender. Any good ole rednek ideas for me?

"Fill it with sand, crimp the ends and start slowly bending around something smaller than the size you want it to be.

Thanks Bushy, I'll give that a try this afternoon. I was thinking something along that line, but couldn't think of what to use to fill the tube with.

"man your gonna play hell trying to fill that with sand. I did one of these and didn't fill with sand and it went really well. I had a small acetalyn tank (maybe 8 inches in diameter) and used that as my sizer so to say.... I didn't straighten out the whole roll. I just stood the bottle inside the roll and kinda tightened it around the bottle. Once its in your hand you'll see what I'm saying and prolly use this method with what ever you choose for a sizer. Lay the roll down on the deck and stand the bottle in it. Now just tighten around it. Hope I got the idea across and that this helps ya some.  this is the method I used for my wort chiller build also."

yeah I bet you'd never get rigid copper to bend ina coil. But soft copper ina roll will indeed serve your purpose, its about 30$ for 25 feet. But there are better ways to cool you hooch if your interested.

Well straight line is what I have. I tried getting a coil knowing it would be easier, but none of the hardware stores here had coils.

"Straight pipe is hard copper you can't hardley bend it without kinking it. Might be able to bend it with a tubing bender if you heat it up. I'd be inclined to take it back for a refund and buy the coiled copper at an Ace Hardware or Orchard Supply or maybe Home Depotor Lowes. Ace Hardware will cut the lenghth you want it, down side is they charge a little more.

I bought 24"" sections cause thats how they sell it, so the 1/2"" is 2 feet and the 1"" is prolly 21"". If you can soldier this will work great.  "

Hey heeler, I got that same condenser on my Pot still......hahhahahahaha......works like a champ. I am starting to know my pot better then my girl friends, so my wife says!!!!!! lol

Forgot - those little tubes are the water inlet on the bottom and the outlet on the top. Now all you need is a little pond pump and a water source like a cooler with some icewater in it and there's your condenser and it works pretty good too."
