"Let me start off with a wow. this stuff smells good, tastes good and it's pretty smooth. I'm very impressed and will start my 2nd Generation batch as soon as I'm done with this batch.
I'm using a PS II in pot mode and i'm pulling 146 proof or 72 to 74% abv. Not bad for pot mode. I got my first half pint at 11:10am this morning and it's 4:40 and still dripping at a nice slow steady pace. as long as it drips and the proof/% abv is good i'll keep collecting. So far I've collected a quart and a half. I'd like to get two quarts of this stuff but I don't see it happening. I believe that I read somewhere running the PS II in pot mode the yield won't be the same as in running it in Refux mode. is this true?"

Dang Johnny..sounds like you are cooking with gas so to speak. Glad to hear it work well. That is an outrageous proof for once through a pot still. Somebody must have left the packing in it..lol. On my one real pot still run with 1.5 plugs of copper..it made the normal two quarts but only 120 proof. Plus about a quart of stinky cloudy tails. I thought it should give more but it didnt want to. Flavor was outstanding. Didnt even need proofing. That was the 4th Gen SF. Now that wash was going downhill fast so may have caused volume issues. The proof is supposedly about typical. Chum can make his pot still come up to 135 but he uses a thumper. Whatever your doing..dont change it..lol.

Yes BW it is an outrageous proof for pot still. I did leave only one roll of copper mesh in it. I think I know why I got such high proof too. Because i threw in about a pint and a half of my last yield. It still didnt smell good and it didn't taste very good. So i poured it into the cooker. It's 7:20pm and i'm collecting tails I've collected about a full pint so far.
