"I took pics from the back so I could prove that they really did come from a barrel. You can see the rusty strap marks. From this angle only one has a bung but from the front they both do and thats cause I added it to the other so they would be uniform.

"This is adding the seat and it shows how I layed it out, not real mind bending if you think about it. Also you can see I added a fake bung on this one -- I just used a 1 1/4"" hole saw and just scarred the top then used a small chisel to clean out the middle. From a distance it appears uniform.

"And so after 2 coats of polyurathane my old Jack Daniels whiskey barrel has a new lease on life and it should last for another year or two at least. I wont leave them out in the weather they will live on my front porch so if any of ya'll pass by and wanna give em a rock just stop on in and we'll pass around a jug!!!!!

I actually have a rather large wood working shop at home so I can appreciate the work you just did. I really like the simple design that you used for the chair. It looks both comfortable and pretty! Way to go!

"Thx guys...being poor white trash I've always had to make my own stuff, I even made my own still. Of course I stole the ideas for the still and the chairs from the internet. You can download damn near anything today so really all you need is a little imagination and gumption to get it done. I think my next project is gonna be a parrot, ( thats right I'm gonna steal that idea too...) I dont think I have to have one to run a still but what the hell, It'll be fun and I can get some use out of it for the forseeable future anyway.

If anybody knows where to see a really cool looking parrot that I can copy plz pass on the info.

Thx again........."

heeler, those chairs look great!
My shop is set up for metal working and between that and all the mechanicing that goes on out there I have no room for wood work. I also use it for processing the deer we harvest. My kids think the shop is just 2400 sq feet of storage space.
