I started a small 2 gal batch of sugar the other day. My air still only does a gallon at a time anyway. I used 2 gals H2O, 4 lbs sugar. I did not use a turbo so i added about 3/4 of an ounce of yeast nutrients. I hydrated 1 pkt of EC-1118 in part of the wash and pitched it at 85 degrees. It is still bubbling after three days so I think the nutrients did its thing. did I miss anything?

If it's working should be OK. For a straight sugar wash I'll usually add some tomatoe paste and lemon juice.

Thanks Bushy. I had read abut the tomato paste and lemon but did not remember the application to use it with. It will be in my next batch.

The tomato paste acts as yeast nutrients which you covered. The lemon is for reducing the PH.
