Just out of curiosity, I wanted to know how many of you have had hot moonshine. The reason for my question is becuase when I was younger every year I would get a nasty flu and I remember my mother heating up some home brew and adding a few spoons of honey, man those vapors would just penetrate your nose when you brought the cup up to ya, but the next morning I always woke up feeling right as rain. So, how many of you have tried hot moonshine or any hot liquor for that matter.

I know most of you who view this probably think its a moronic thread to start with but , it's flu season and I encourage you to try it when your feeling down and out. Take a full coffee cup of shine, heat it in the microwave for about 1:30 or so and then add honey. I'm tellin ya it works every time.

Back when I was little my grandma used to give us warm shine with honey when we were sick.:) Didnt know what it was then but was told about it later. The old timers had it figured out.

Both my grandmas did that. One used lemon and the other chamomille. The lemon was OK, the other was nasty!

There are two reasons that this remedy makes you feel better and no,getting bombed isn't one of them.
#1, Honey has natural antibiotic properties, it also has other things that I can't remember at the moment . It's also the only food that never goes bad on the shelf, it will go to sugar but you can simply warm it up and it is honey all over again. Do a web search on this stuff, it's very interesting.
#2, Alcohol kills germs!

LOL my mom always had a gallon jug of ol' grandad and would put those jawbreaker size Christmas mints, the kind that would melt in your mouth in about 10 seconds, in the until it was almost a syrup. Any time I even coughed she would supply me with a couple of spoonful's....got to the point I'd fake it just to get some of that goodness...LOL
