"Hi All

I have been doing a lot of reading and you tube video watching but now my head is getting ready to explode. I'm just starting with the old basic six quart pressure cooker on an electric burner. I have the burner converted to stay on and I'm using a router speed control to vary the temperature. My question is what is the correct procedure to control the pot still? Do you get it to a steady stream and dial it back some? Where is the correct location to monitor the temperature? How long should the run take? What is the typical ABV of this type of distilling and one more good question, what does good distilled spirits even taste like?

Regards
Frank T."

I have an answer to that question... what makes liquor ""good"" to you is the same differance between a homely lady and a beautiful one...what I might consider to be homely, might be beautiful to you...but both good ladies and liquor have to be smooth, tasteful and warming.Wink"

Thanks for the reply. I realize taste is very subjectable to ones own opinion. I do enjoy a bourbon such as Jack Daniels and cognac such as Henessy but having never actually tried moonshine I don't really have a benchmark as a comparison. That's why I asked my silly question of what good moon shine even taste like. Any descriptions would be appreciated."
