Sounds like your fire is too hot. Start slow and watch your temps. Your wash could be boiling and slobbering over into the condenser watering down your spirits. You might also try covering the inside bottom of your boiler with rasher rings to help distribute the heat and aid in preventing the wash from burning. What type of wash did you ferment? Work slow, Work slow, Work slow!!!

I was brewing a sugar wash which I've done at least 30 times in my distiller I think my distiller might be going on the blink. I don't have anyway to control the heat or regulate the temp or even monitor it for that matter. Up till now I could just plug it in and regulate the time in order to get the proof I was looking for.probably need a different distiller. Might give the washers a try though. Is there any specifics on the washer size and type. Thanks Bigtime

Hi bigtime, the rings Shelby is talking about are the ceramic raschig rings and you can get them from BH. I use 1 to 1 1/2 inch black aqarium rocks and some clear glass marbles in my tank to help break up the bubbles.
