I am using a propane burner, but was wondering does anyone use an electric stove top. And will it work as well as gas or will it not work at all....

It will work. Some stoves cycle the heat which can cause a problem. I've done a few runs with a 22qt stock pot on my stove just fine. I had no problem controlling the temp.

It will also work on a single burner hot plate, you can bypass the thermostat and use an rsc to have control over constant heat output. There is info on the site here to do that. Let me know if you have any questions. NS

I have a small electric hot plate and a 4 gal pot I use on it. It does a good job even with the cycling. I'm going to a larger pot and propane. Just the opposite. I run mine full power to bring temp up then scale it down as it runs. Works for me.
