"A LOT OF INFORMATION FOR THE MONEY Do i agree with everything Mathew B Rowley say??? NO I DONT
But you wont agree with everything i agree with either lol.
MR rowleys book at first glance gives the impression of a cartoonist rather than a moonshiner. The many sketches in the book are there to illustrate his information. I'm not one for these drawings but as long as i paid for the book i decided to see what was written in the book. Hey guess what? I found myself learning from every page I read.
He starts out with history which i have no interest in but as soon as i realised that this guy knew his stuff i couldnt put it down. He talks of equimpment needed; but I already had tons of equipment from wine making. Since i never did any mashing, that section on equipment turned out to be important to me.
Mashing and fermenting is important because too many folks have been mislead by folklore and legend.
The distilling portion was very important to me becaiuse he not only covered the faction separation by smell but has a list of temperatures that can guide you into knowing how/when to make cuts
There is lots more such as how to build a pot still, what fractioning is and many good recipes for diferent styles of whiskey in addition to traditional shine. Lots more but i'm tired of typing.

I am very new to this so I did buy this book and have enjoyed reading it. It is very good reinforcement for all the information that you read about in this forum. I have the barley malt receipe fermenting now.

I found it to be a good read, actually likes it a lot. Cut it apart, scanned it and now have the book in PDF format. |
