"Hello all! Checking in from Southern California. Although I claim Wyoming and Florida as my two homes (16 yr Navy vet). I plan to end up back in the south upon retiring though.

Been reading a lot on this site and have been learning quite a bit. I think I know which direction to go but need some advice from all of you. I'm considering the PSII vs PSII HC. Is the HC worth the extra $$$? I don't plan on making a ton of product but then again I don't want to spend an entire weekend doing a run. Would I be satisfied with just the PSII? I've pretty much made up my mind on getting the 15 gallon over the 8 gallon kettle just for the flexibility it would provide.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice."

Hi Batch,
I'm from Nor-Cal and welcome to the forum. I'm fairly new here and consider myself a novice compared to the more experienced on the site. But I have read and learned a lot on here and placed my order with Brewhaus last week and I went with the 15g kettle and the PSII HC as that seems like the best match for each other as far as time and efficiency. I recommended you do the same and spend the extra $100. and get the HC column. The time you save over the PSII will make up the money spent in no time. They say the HC column is twice as fast and with the 15g kettle it seems like a better match and that's why I went with it and my recommendation is you do the same. Just my opinion...

Cap - Thanks for the advice. I've been thinking the exact same thing. I've read that the HC has the potential to make a high quality product in less time. I'm more than willing to put in the time but if there is a way to make the same quality in less time then I think that is the way to go. I think I'm going to go with what you're saying.

scotty - not San Diego. Further north.
