You are off to a poor start my anonymous friend. Why not dazzle us with your expertise before dispensing the insults. Actually standing behind you feeble words with a name or nick would only add to any credibility you may or may not have as well.

So go ahead. Impress upon us. We are all waiting impatiently I'm sure. lol

Ace of 2, you do not have to use the vitamins if you use turbo yeast. The turbo has all the nutrients and vitamins that is needed to get the wash going well. If you use a yeast other than a turbo than you would want to use yeast nutrient and/or yeast energizer. As for the vitamins I myself would use 2 to a 5 gallon batch. Sorry your question was not answered and someone took it upon themself to disrupt this forum. Most of what is used in the nutrients are b-vitamins so I would say that normal vitamis would work as well.

I was going to question the intelligence quote about us all, but think I will let that lie.... know what I mean vern?

Vit's in the wash, I have a batch of sugar wash going using the prestige distillers yeast. It woulod not start at all after about two weeks, so I added a multi vit and a tablespoon of potassium nitrate and guess what, its foaming and going to town after two days!!! Gee, imagine that for dummie.........Jimbull

I've never had any problem getting good results out of the Turbo just using sugar and the instructions on the pack. I don't see how Vitamins or extra nutrient could hurt any though. One thing I do that has helped improve it and assuming you have no trouble getting the ferment started is to keep it cool once it starts. I have very cold well water ,about 50 to 55 degrees farenheight, and simply keep the mash in a tub of it and change some of the water every couple of days. If speed is of concern then this method is not for you. It improves the quality and ABV a good deal but takes several weeks to finish. That is a fair trade for me as I can easily ferment several carboys at a time this way.
