Hi Jctab, I am doing what Bushy explained right now. But a little larger. i am going to add 6 more lbs of sugar and a 6 oz. can of tomato paste (not sauce) in place of actual distillers yeast nutrients. I've done it before and it worked fine.

I do the same withe the tomato paste and the lemon, but bushy is jacking up the sugar then adding additional nutrients. Does the additional sugar stress the yeast to the point of no return without the addition of nutrients? If so, what types of nutrients are out there. I.e more tomato paste?

I believe that is why more nutrients are added with more sugar. I got a container of Distillers Yeast Nutrients from Brewhaus and have only used that a/o tomato paste each time I add sugar. Can't see why more paste will hurt, but maybe someone else will say differently.

Well I'm with you on this one. Can't see how such a small amount of tomato paste could hurt. Thanks man

you might want to add some epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) and lemon juice or citric acid with the tomato paste if you are doing a sugar wash

Hi dieselduo, If those items were added in the beginning and I was adding more sugar and nutes after a couple days should I also be adding more epsom salts and citric acid?

Thanks diesel, I failed to mention that I would also be adding another squeezed lemon, but the Epsom salts couldn't hurt either. Just a pinch?

Hi googe, Turbo does have it's own nuts and I'm not sure if it needs the paste. But I add it because I'll be adding more sugar after it has slowed down and the nuts I add when I add more sugar is not very much, kind of like a back up nute. I have'nt tried it without the paste as I get a clean end product and the paste is cheap.

Try it without and let me know how it goes.
