"I just finished my first run, a nice Birdwatchers sugar wash, and obviously didn't think of what to do with the left over wash after running. I've done a search and it seems everyone talks of using leftovers for livestock feed. I live in the city, so no chance of that. I'm in a pretty tight nit community, so can't bury in the yard, either. So, is it safe to poor the wash down the drain? What about the sludge at the bottom of the fermenter?
On a side note, the run was a success! It took a month to ferment below sp 1.000 (74-80 degrees F the whole time), but was worth it. Lots of good neutral with minimal heads/tails.
Thanks
TT"

Keep the hot water running and let it go down the drain if you don't have a flower bed or garden to dump it in.
