"Hello everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself and I appreciate all the great info that everyone shares here. I guess you could say I am jumping right into things, I purchased the Essential Extractor PSII High Capacity- Complete Distiller with 8 gallon premium tank and I am having them add the fitting for a heating element. Things are on back order well into April at this point in time so I have plenty of time to do my research waiting on it's arrival. I do have a couple questions from the start.
Is the 8 gallon ""ideal"" or will I regret it and should go to the 13 gallon? I know this is person preference, what is the total height difference?
Does anyone have any decent pictures of the Essential Extractor PSII High Capacity, the website's pics are very low quality and I am just wanting to see better pictures of my purchase.
Thanks again to everyone for sharing all your experience and knowledge.
Pennsyltucky"

Welcome Pennsyltucky, You and I and several others are in the same boat with the wait. I have a small still though to tide me over. I don't know the difference in height but I read recently that the 15 gal unit is just over 8 feet. Good luck and get ready to read. A lot.

Hi pensyltucky, Welcome to the forum. Good choice on the PS2HC. If you can I would suggest upgrading to the 15 gallon kettle. It will give you the option of doing up to 12 gallons at a time and you can still do smaller batches if you want to. My setup is electrically heated and sitting on a movers dollie for mobility sits and at about 6.5 feet. I have posted images of mine in my "its here" thread Maddawgs

Hi Pensyltucky, Welcome to the site. I also am waiting on my PSIIHC and I am getting the 15g. I think it would be better to get the 15g because you can do as Maddawgs says and do up to 12 gal. batches but still smaller ones and I think it's a good match with the HC tower. The 15g kettle is 26" high but I don't know how high the 8g kettle is... Captinjack

Well the time is getting near, I have been in contact with Rick and have decided on going with the 15 gallon kettle, 2 NPT fittings and a tri-clamp ferrule to the top of the tower. I am looking for a one time purchase with no regrets and I think I found it. I guess now it's time to get some mash going and wait out the last couple of weeks! I look forward to being part of the forum and enjoying my new hobby!
Cheers from W. Pennsyltucky

I wanted one of those on top too. Never thought about it till guys on this forum talked about one.-- i would make a cooling coil in a 1 foot pipe and mount it on top of the tower as a diferent way of operating the rig. I think BAYOURULER has a themometer clamped to that triclamp. My ideal rig would be the 15 gallon boiler with 2 1 inch NPT heat element adapters--plus a drain valve and another 1 inch npt coupling on the boiler cover for filling the boiler. My problem is that my porch has a roof and mt 8 gallon rig with the 1 foot extension already is about 6 inches from th ceiling. I would need a 15 gallon rig that is the same hieght as my 8 gallon.
