Is it ok to make a half batch using only 1/2 bottle of gerts essence? I was just going to shake the essence and use half and cut all the other numbers in half to see if I liked it first. Would the opened bottle of essence be ok at room temp or would it have to be refrigerated? Thanks Chub

Rick: New Tequila essence is many time better than the 'new' essence but doesn't meet the standards of the old essence. Very drinkable but most common comment was smells fruity, no complaints about making the margaritas with it Thanks for pushing this with Gert, still wish we had the old essence.

While I am told that the current recipe is exactly the same as the old, I do also know that some raw materials are no longer available. I have discussed this with Gert, and he will be completely re-developing the Tequila essences shortly.

I must have been unclear, I dont want less taste I just want to cut the whole recipe in half so I have 12.5 oz rather than 25 finished product. That way if I dont care for the essence flavor I only wasted 12oz not 25. Thanks Chub

Chub: I understand now, remember that one of our neatest deals is that any essence we make that taste like crap can go right back in the still to be re-distilled to its pure base form again. Believe me, I have recycled many a flavor gone bad.
