I have access to high fructose corn syrup. My Question is, is this suitable for a sugar wash? At what ammount per 6 gal? What kind of yeast? What other nutrients? We use this in the spring to get our Bee hives up to a good number and i have some left over.

Yes to the triple scale hydrometer. I have all the usual equipment for making beer and wine and have been doing so for years. I, however am new to distalation. I know when making wine and mead the yeast is important as to the outcome of the taste. I have fermented fructose in small amounts in some wines but i found that it somtimes gives an "off" flavour. This is why i wanted to know if it can be used for a sugar wash to be run out of my new 15 gal ps11hc that i will be receiving next week according to Rick at the Brewhaus. Thanks
