any grain like corn or rye will make grain alcohol. you need a malted grain or an enzyme to turn the starch into fermentable sugars. You can leave the corn in your fermenter if you want but make sure you siphon or strain it before putting it into your boiler because you can scorch it and will make some nasty tasting stuff
