How,, you ask? By staying within the confines of Missouri state statute chapter 311, secttion 311-055 and 311-020. Revised August 2012. 1995 S.B. 468, 2009 H.B. 132. I questioned the lagality before delving into this fun and exciting hobby. Fortunatly, Missouri provides provisions for us hobbists! I have many questions and am learning and enjoying the answers and other info gained from reading the threads here! Please let me know if I have misconstrued my state law!

So you are saying that Missouri allows home distilling of alcohol. Please give me some of the specifics if you please :)

Chapter 311
Liquor Control Law
Section 311.055
August 28, 2012
License to manufacture not required, personal or family use--limitation.

311.055. No person at least twenty-one years of age shall be required to obtain a license to manufacture intoxicating liquor, as defined in section 311.020, for personal or family use. The aggregate amount of intoxicating liquor manufactured per household shall not exceed two hundred gallons per calendar year if there are two or more persons over the age of twenty-one years in such household, or one hundred gallons per calendar year if there is only one person over the age of twenty-one years in such household.

Now if you read 331.020 it includes the word spirituous

Definition of intoxicating liquor.
311.020. The term "intoxicating liquor" as used in this chapter shall mean and include alcohol for beverage purposes, alcoholic, spirituous, vinous, fermented, malt, or other liquors, or combination of liquors, a part of which is spirituous, vinous, or fermented, and all preparations or mixtures for beverage purposes, containing in excess of one-half of one percent by volume. All beverages having an alcoholic content of less than one-half of one percent by volume shall be exempt from the provisions of this chapter, but subject to inspection as provided by sections 196.365 to 196.445*.

Seems like they decriminalized home distilling like Colorado decriminalized marijuana. I wouldn't think it trumps federal regulations though.

No I also do not think it trumps federal statues. Obuffoon has already directed CellHolder to ignore prosecution of Colorado, and Californicatia. That's why a fella should get the AFP Small permit for the Federal reqiurement.

You bet. I add to the pile daily BigGrin

"in the gravel yard, with a number for my name"
"Making little rocks outa big rocks all day..."
"Oh the work is mighty hard, in the gravel yard"
"I'll never be a free man so they say"

I should also say I have deep affection for the Show Me State. Many enjoyable years there, and them folks play good bluegrass too! The circus clowns are pretty bold too Wink

It doesn't, but as you noted, it didn't stop the folks in Colorado from opening those pot bars. I would think (hope) that the good folks in Missouri could quietly distill without much fear.

I'm pretty sure chapter 311 is meant for beer and wine not a --distilled spirit. Most states allow 200 gallons of beer and wine for personal use, its the distillation that makes it an issue.
