Aye sir, and to you as well. I seldom if ever go out on NYE....Tend to follow my Dad's advice that some nights are just best spent at home...

We have a club house in our retirees mobile home park. About 40 of us have T BONE and deserts. Home by 9 or 10 lol

I happened to catch some seafood on sale so we'll be having those on the 'morrow... Tonight it's black eyed pea and hambone soup, made from the left over Xmas ham.. rather a tradition here... (And, I got that ham on sale too Wink )

Drinkin', well, the flu's been very bad here and we are both now just getting over it, so... Maybe tomorrow...

Happy New Year guys. Today I am running a bizzar grain bill mash. Some guy gave me flaked rye, flaked wheat, crystal rye, marris otter and last but not least 1/2 lb of chocolate rye. Can't wait. Should be tasty. Oh ta. I've got some lobsters cooking for Filet mignon and lobster cassarole later on. Have a safe and healthy NEW YEAR.

Hell, I didn't even tell you I shell it and then soak the meats in a light butter/garlic/Old Bay sauce and then serve aside the tail...

Umm. this exceeds the calorie/cholesterol count for about a week.. Wink

Having my traditional New Years dinner of pork roast, hoppin john, collard greens cooked with ham hock and hot pepper vinegar,cornbread with onions added for sweetness and some sweet tea

Can't say I've ever had or seen collard greens. I've heard of them though. Always thought they were sorta like spinach???

Collards are a much thicker and larger green than spinach. They are antiviral, antibacterial, anticancer active and chocked full of vitamins. The closest thing I can think of would be kale. In the civil war the yankees burned all of the crops and left only black eyed peas,field peas and collards to be used as fodder for the animals and that was about all the people had left to eat. Hence the New Years tradition

NFL is a fun time. We've been to every game for the last 12 yrs. unless we were out of own. This past week was a little/LOT cold and wet. Tell your neighbor I said hi.

YEAH.....thats how we do it in the south. And they say everything is better up north, not if they dont have greens and grits!!!!!

As for the NYE party..............I had to work but oh well, I still got a income and lots dont."
