I'm interested in building a much larger column for faster output to make fuel alcohol. I like the 2' and 3' designs like sold by Brewhouse but I would like to make a 4' - 6'. The help I need is in the way of suggestions for column length and diameter of cooling cross pieces. Does anyone know the ideal numbers on those two for either a 4' or 6' diameter column? Since this is to be strictly a fuel still I assume ABS or PVC with stainless mesh or broken safety glass packing will do fine?

to the best of my knowledge, PVC is NOT alchohol resistant and will not hold-up in an environment with such high alcohol contents as found in a still column.
