IMHO the kind of pump dosent really matter, as long as it moves enough water to condenses the vapor back to a liquid. It wont change the quality of your likker if you use this one as compared to that one, its just moveing cool water to turn vapor back into a liquid.

Heeler is correct. Any decent submersible is fine. It will be running for hours and you don't want it dying in the middle of a run so get a dependable one. It also does not have to be submersible. They are just my suggestion 'cause they are less noisy.

If you want to put your hands on one before you buy go to Lowes or HD and look for pond pumps, it doesn't take a very big one.

These guys are right. Home Depot and Lowes carry pond pumps that are extremely good for hobby distilling. An aquarium pump will also work. The type of still and still size really doesn't matter as far as the pump is concerned.
