"Hi everybody, thanks for letting me join you. I have been stilling about a year and a half. First column I built was a 2"" cm, then 3"" cm. am currently running a four inch three plate modular for whiskey and rum, add a packed section for neutral. My current boiler is 27 gallon stainless which I built also.
I joined here because I joined HDA and know it started here, thanks Rick and Tom for your effort.
I have much to learn so eager to learn more here, cheers everyone..."

Welcome, Stainless Dude, and thanks for the help! Quite familiar with your name from the other forums. I'm learning to TIG weld stainless for my most recent build. I may have a few questions for you once I move on from "practicing" to actual fabrication. Of course I picked one of the most difficult designs possible, but I like to challenge myself.

I haven't read what column you are going to build Randy, a plated column I assume. I would be glad to answer any questions you have about welding or fabrication so ask away...

I already have a plated column (I bought it... I know), I'm building a new offset crossflow VM/LM hybrid. This is the design I'm stealing from New Moonshiner (actually, Harry's condenser), but making it in stainless: http://www.artisan-disti...topic.php?f=3&t=6990

I already have a 3" VM/LM boka, so I'm just using the 3" column sections (30" & 40") from that. I've wanted to make this head since I first saw it. I think stainless would be a nice alternative and easier to keep clean. Pretty challenging. I'm making the crossflow tubes 3/8" rather than 1/4" to give myself a chance of success. I have a friend who is pretty good, so he can bail me out if I get way over my head. Seem crazy? Haha
