"I just got my PSII and was putting it together and I have an extra round O ring. My kit came with 2 flattened rubber rings, one goes between the lid and column and the other goes between the column and the condenser head. Where does the round O ring go? It fits in the groove of the columns, but there is only one of them. Also its not listed in my parts list, only the two flatened rings are listed.
Thanks, Opihi"

"It's 2 1/4"" diameter, round O ring, very skinny like 1/16"" thick. It fits perfectly in the in the groove on the end flanges of the columns.
Thanks, Opihi"

I just got my BH PS II HC last Tues and didn't get any o ring, I was missing a grommet for a thermometer but I don't really need it now as I have some digital oven thermometers. I think by what you are describing is that they gave you an o ring for a keg hook up.

"Okay, I kinda figured it was an extra part for another application as I couldn't find anywhere it would go on my setup. Just wanted to double check though before I start making some explosive vapors.
Happy brewing, Opihi"

I did a test run with water just to make sure there were no leaks and than a cleaning run with a 50/50 vinegar and water, just boil it for a good 1/2 hour or so and its a good time to check your water lines for leaks, than after it cools again give it a good rinse out with water to get the vinegar smell out and then I did a sacrificial run with some cheep wine and water mix that I just dumped when done, then they say it's ready to go... It was highly recommended to me to do this... Hope this helps...

Hi opihiman911, I got one of those with my PSII also. I think it is used for connection to a keg. I have used it on the boiler lid to connect the column and had a good seal with it. So I keep it around in case I need it sometime.

I know this is an old post, but yes, the extra o-ring makes a good tight seat when running on a keg, or any other fitting without the grooved seat...
