Hi Folks... On a Series 2 extractor.. With a Threaded Coupling in place.. Which would you go for..A Brewhaus Belt Heater (Back in stock!) or a Threaded Still Heater (1500 Watt) which is sold here at Brewhaus? The belt is about double in price... so which would you jump on? Thanks

one band or one threaded element for 8 gallon. (2 for 15 gallon atleast while heating up) threaded element might be faster but increases chance to scorch wash if something other than a sugar mash.

I'd say the internal element will be much more efficient.

Ive used a internal element and never had a scorching issue and I've put in some rather thick washes. I would bet folks that get careless with gas would have more chance of scorching than with electric for the simple fact that with the internal element it's a slower heat up than with gas. If you think about it....lets say I'm in a hurry so I really pour the heat to it (gas I mean) you certainly could scorch what's inside. But with the internal element it's a slower, steadier and more gentle heatup and cook as compared to getting exited and turning the fire up to high. These are just my opinions but I have and do use both.

Agreed. Also a ULWD or LWD element is less likely to scorch. Just make sure to properly clear the wash and it shouldnt be an issue either way.
