Followed the rabbit hole that this hobby takes you and all corn mash I went. Going to go steam to heat mash up,well aware of all safety concerns and precautions. Have 2 questions....1- is it better to presoak corn for a day....2- wand placement,above or below corn.... Been doing all corn with drill as stirrer then tried old oven to bake it in,didn't have to stir but took along time to come to temp. Hence here I am at the steam. I use the Seb enzymes,which work great. Thank you for the imput......stay safe and happy stillin.

Thanks for reply, not distilling with steam just cooking corn mash with it. Although I have read where people are using steam to distill with, more or less a thumper setup. Water in main boiler and fermented wash in thumper. Guess on wand depth will be trial and error to see what heats best with less chance of plugging steam wand.
