Hi, I’m Eric. I’m from Lynchburg, TN. We have a small distillery here that you might have heard of. I am completely new to distilling, and I plan to start with a small 6 qt pressure cooker to get my feet wet, but I have a question before I start to make it...when I put in new fittings into the top of the cooker, is it alright to use bronze. I know copper and stainless is preferred, and bronze contains small traces of lead. Is this OK, or do I need to purchase copper or stainless fittings

Hello, welcome to this exciting hobby. Just a suggestion, I would try to find a beer keg to use as a boiler then make it into pot still or reflux depending on the product you want to make. A 6 quart pressure cooker is not going to give you much once you make you cuts. I would go copper or stainless on your connection just for the ease of it, there is information how to pickle bronze/brass if you must use it. Have fun, be safe and happy Stillin!!!!
