It's help a newbie out day! I need a recipe for a rye. Perferably one that does not require malting. Can you use a canned rye beer malt extract? I searched before I asked this and couldn't find anything. I'll be using a reflux still to run it , due in friday, I'm going to run a couple of sugar washes first just to get the feel of this. Thanks for any help.

Yes, you can use a beer malt extract, just make sure that the extract does not contain any hops. I think you want to make a wort about 1.070-1.060 gravity. I am not sure of the volumn you are talking about. I also have ran a batch to get a feel of my system and I have to say everyones system is different. Rye should give you a wonderful whiskey. I am planning on doing oats and millet.
