"can this be right? I looked online for a 1500W dimmer switch to use to control my 1100W hotplate and they went for between $100-$150.
Tell me it aint so
Got to be be cheaper options - Anyone?"

"some dimmers are quite high. check ebay. you should be able to find something a bit better priced.

"I checked with several electrical supply houses, best price for that switch, 54.00.......There was another place just down the street, 140.00....Ya just got to shop it...
