when i mix 1lt of 90% vol ethanol with 1 lt of water , i end up with a lower volume (<2lt). are there any tables or any other solution to predict this phenomeno?

i can understand that but what do we do about it? how do we take it under consideration when we want to mix higher quantities of water and ethanol and still we want to be precise?

Oh sorry about that. To figure out how much go to the calculators page at brewhaus.com I think they have two. Its better to just get a broad range alcometer and measuiring cylinder. most folks do that.

dear brew thanks but calculators do not take this phenomenon under consideration. could you direct me to someone who can help.

You could try the homedistiller site. pretty much everyone is busy doing stuff right now but they will check in in a couple days. One of the old timers might know a conversion. Someone will see this post soon.
