"After having the Essential Extractor 2 for awhile and learning a lot, I have come to the conclusion that my days are really long compared to most others posting.

I usually run with the full column and no packing ... because of the product I'm making. But it doesn't matter how I do it. That way, in full reflux mode or in pot still mode, I always end up spending over 12 hours on a run.

My direct question is this. If I buy the 1500 W hotplate ... will it speed up my runs? I'm running the lower end hotplate with diffuser plate right now.

I didn't know if that extra 300 W would help my runs go faster.

I have the high capacity unit. I bought my sister the ps II pro unit which she put over a 1000 W element, and quite after 19 hours or so. My High Capacity on propane can strip 12 gal. in about 4 hours or a bit more. Run the whole thing reflux in 6 to 7 incl. heat up. Allmost same is true for the ee ps 2 except the condenser cannoat handle that speed. Put a copper worm on it, through a bucket, and no limit to st4ripping speed. will double your distilling speed, rather 4X. Insulate the top third of the pot if useing gas, the whole thing if useing internal. the entire column for either. Stippping, single potstill, with just the botton, full reglux. Insulate. I like propane, just have to compensate for safety. Haveing done so, would never use hot plate again. Wast of time. Would go to triple energy inputs for internal electrical if no other choice. Would work for your unit if you cannot use gas."
