"Anyone know of a good place to get sheets of cork gasket.
I ordered some from a heating supply shop & it took forever to get & they sent the wrong thing twice. I'm looking for approx 12"" squares about 1/8"" to 3/16"" thick.

Go to the auto parts store. I get mine there and it only cost me 1.50 for a 10' roll.

are cork-rubber gaskets safe to use? i am wanting to replace my old gasket. i have been using sliced plastic tubing. and also at times have used a home made silicone gasket. i have been getting some cloudiness, i think that my be some of my problem.

Aquarium silicone, the natural cure kind, not the acid or solvent cure ones are safe to use and last. Put a bead of it onto one surface, coat the other with vasoline, put em together and let fully cure. Take apart and cut excess off, and clean vasoline off. Makes a good seal. I would make a mark on both top and bottom so you would assemble each time the same."

"Just purchased some White Rubber gasket material that is FDA Approve and suppose to be good for 200deg., anyone ever use anything like this?

I'd try a auto parts store for cork gasket material.
