You would only want to use those on 6 or more gallons. They would have way too much neutrents in them for 1 gallon.

Most packets of yeast are designed to be mixed with 6 gallons of water and up to 17 pounds of sugar. After several days to several weeks, dependent on ambient temperate, this will result in a 14-18% ETOH solution. It then needs to be distilled to get the alcohol out. If done properly you should get a gallon of 95% alcohol out of your 6 gallons of solution. That can also be 2 gallons of 50% alcohol. But without carbon filtration, any flavored liquors made with it would be disgusting. Raw alcohol stinks, and it tastes horrible. Pure alcohol, or clean alcohol mixed with distilled water, kept in a sealed container, will last for several lifetimes until it evaporates, or forever if the glass bottle was to be sealed with glass. ETOH is a stable molecule, and will not break down until acted upon. Water will never break down. The molecules of water in the last glass you drank have existed unchanged for the last 4 billion years. Alcohol, on the other hand, will break down when consumed and be converted back to the sugars it came from. With a pleasant side-effect. Who would have ever thought that the urine from bacteria would be desirable to drink.
