I am interested in Distilling Absinthe the real stuff with at least 250mg Thujone
using Grand Wormwood for the fun of it. There are other herbs involved such as Anise, liquorice extract, etc... I need to know the relative proportions for some good stuff and step by step instructions.
I have a reflux still that i've used to make 185 proof rum from sugar with a flow of 1 quart/45min.
Apparently this stuff received bad publicity and was not produced or sold in many countries for almost 80 years. Very few people know about it.
You can still get the real stuff in the Czech republic and Spain, but you can not import it into the USA. It is prohibited item according to the border patrol even though FDA allows up to 10mg of Thujone.
I've bought a bottle of Lucid after going to 2 grocery stores (1 ethnic) and 3 liquor stores. The stuff is hard to find unless you order online, but it is still low in Thujone concentration to feel any effect. Century is the next best thing to what i want to make at 100mg Thujone but it is illegal in the US,... Although you can get it in France.
Anyway I'd like to make some stuff for fun the traditional way not just mixing the herbs into concentrated ethanol as in Green Devil product. (even with that i'm not convinced that they are using Grand Wormwood (Artemisia Absinthium) which by definition make it Absinthe according to Wikipedia.
Any help would be appreciated.

"post this under Recipe requests, and likely you will get better responses. Actually posting all questions in the pertinet area of forum will likely work better.
Better yet is to do a search for Absinthe first and read the previous posts first.
Not geting down on you, just suggesting"
