Yes, I am a newbie! I just finished building my Reflux still and I was wondering how to clean it before the first time use. Can anyone help me?

"I have the same question. I got the new High Capacity put together last night. I rinsed the rings a dozen time and let them soak over night and will add them tonight. I was just thinking about doing 1-2 small runs with distilled water ...then start running the mash

Thoughts?"

"I've been distilling for a little over a year and for cleaning, I use soap and water. I fill one sink with the soapy water to clean the column sections and then fill the other sink with water and powdered sterilizer called ""Final Rinse"", (I'm sure there are different names for the stuff) that is used in bars as a final rinse. I let that soak for about 10 minutes and then I rinse the parts and let drip dry. To clean my pot, I use soap and water, add the scouring chain shake well and empty. I also add the sterilizer, let sit, pour out and rinse. I use my stove in the kitchen to dry out the bottom of the pot.
Hope this helps,
TS"
