"I have made some very fine neutral runs and have some great product. I would like to flavor some with peach, maybe apple or any other flavor you guys cans suggest.
My question is how do you flavor the neutral without getting it cloudy by adding peaches or apples etc. Once the neutral is in the jar, do you just add a few peaches or apples and let sit, then strain through coffee filters to polish. I know this is probably not a hard issue to solve but I would like to do it in a way as to not ruin the look of a clean, neutral product.
All suggestions appreciated as well as flavor suggestions and techniques!

"Biskit The essence sold here is very hard to beat. The apple is one of the favorites that I use, everyone loves it. I have never tried any peaches , but I have just dumped a bottle of cherries into a mason jar and filled with spirit .after a few days it's pretty good. If you experiment with the peaches, let me know how it works, I wouldn't mind making a little of that too."

I sometimes flavor my own stuff by taking a little out in a mason jar and putting in that jar what I want to flavor other bottles with like peaches, blueburries, or any thing that I think will taste good. let it sit like that at room temp for a few weeks and BAM you can take some of that and add it to another bottle to flavor it.

I use Mississippi Essence, just make according to package instructions; but then add 35 ml of Southern Whiskey (premade according to instructions). I have the ingredients, but a question. You make up the Mississippi Essense, with the sugar called for, in a 750ml bottle, with 40% neutral, you then mix up a batch of Southern Whiskey, from another source, and then mix 35ml of it to the Mississipi Essense? I was making sure that I had the proceedure down as you do yours. I've had both essenses mixed up, and thought neither one of them was quite right, but they were good anyway. Maybe you've improved your formula since this post was originally posted? Thanks,,, Gary"

Wife like flavors. She puts the fruit in a jar & the strains it after the taste is where she wants it. Raspberry is her favorite although she made a killer peppered spirit using peppercorns. Made the liquor very dark though. Quite a kick on the back of the tongue.

My personal favorite and a favorite of all my friends and family is my spiced Whupstick.
I eyeball the spices/extracts that I add: Cinnamon 1/2 Vanilla bean Nutmeg Allspice Ginger almond extract
And then add some Maple syrup to smooth it out. That stuff tastes like Christmas.
Citrus: zest any one or a mixture of oranges, Lemon, Lime, and Grapefruit...about 3 tablespoons of total zest per 12oz....let stand for a couple weeks, shaking it every day or so. Filter through cheesecloth. A corona tastes awesome when you fill the neck with lime-shine. :)
Chocolate: Very much a PITA to make...women like it though add a couple of tablespoons of cocoa powder and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon to 12 oz of neutral. shake it everyday or so for a couple of weeks, and then filter through a coffee filter (SLOW process). Filter again. Add about 1/3 tsp of vanilla, and maple syrup until desired sweetness.

I call this apple pie: 1 gal. fine apple cider, 1 cup honey and a few cinimon sticks simmer over low heat for 1/2 hour to 1 hr. remove from heat. let cool add 1 liter (or so) of your finest 95% neutral spirits. shake. chill. enjoy.
