Wow,I just tried my first wash with the turbo yeast. man that stuff took off like it was boiling on the stove. But the first wash is still pussyfooting around and I'm not sure if it is going to be any good. Its still bubbling (very little) you cant see it bubbling but each time I check it, it still has bubbles on the top and the sg is only at 1.020 and it been 11 days, I though that the bannas would move it along a little faster than it has. (wonder what it would have done if I hadent put them in it). do yall think its ok? should I strip it , toss it, it has been 11 days or wait a little longer? I dont know what the point of no return is as far as how long you can let a wash go before it just not going to do what it should do.This wash is suger, water, and bakers yeast with 3 bannas in it. I dont really want to put any turbo yeast in it and it not help and wast that unless yall think it would work.

A proper turbo has all the neutrients etc. needed for a sugar wash. There are however, different turbos. Some are good to a 14% wash and others higher. The lower ones are faster and somewhat cleaner than the higher ones.

My guess, it is most likely the temp. Room temp. say 70° F is a bit chilly for them. Snuggle them up close or near your heat source or prepare an environement for say around 80°. Temp. and temp fluctuations really slow things down. However, if your brew is still working, ie, your yeast are still alive, then just get it into a warmer place or wait longer. I had one that went for over 2 weeks in mid winter, even with extra heat. If the floor is over a basement area that isn't heated, put them on some 2X4's to isolate them from the colder floor. That was my problem before. At 74° I get good and quick results. Thats the temp. of the brew, not just the room temp."
